Gabriel Ruiz-Bernal, one of the most active pianists in the Washington metropolitan area.  He presents numerous performances as a soloist and as a collaborative pianist.  His style extends from the traditional classical piano repertory to jazz.  Gabriel is also a sought after accompanist.

· Masters Degree: Piano Performance.  Major: Classical Piano. Minor: JazzPiano.  Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, Virginia. GPA 3.98

· Bachelor Degree (triple major: Piano, Music Theory, French Horn) and Diploma of Professor with First Prize: Conservatory Superior de Málaga.

· Additional studies at Yale University’s Institute of Sacred Music.

 

A faculty member of the Levine School of Music in Washington, D.C., his teaching studio is located at the new Music Center at Strathmore.  Gabriel is also a renown liturgical musician, holding positions as Director of Music and as organist at several churches simultaneously in Washington.  He is one of the organists at St. Matthew’s Cathedral, Director of Music at Berwyn Presbyterian Church, organist at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, and guest organist at Immaculate Conception Church.  Gabriel was the pianist of Pope Benedict XVI’s visit to Washington, and performed at the Papal Mass celebrated at Nationals Park Stadium on April 17 2008.
